Hits and Misses

I have had many pieces of work throughout the year that I feel I did to the fullest of my capability. Unfortunately, I have also written some that weren't too great. My personal narrative that I completed at the beginning of the year was a miss, although I worked on it for a long time. I was still not familiar with using vivid details and showing instead of telling. Another miss were the first blogs I completed I struggled mostly with finding a good topic to write about which made my writing less captivating to the reader. My third miss was the Lord of The Flies assignment. Instead of choosing a common thesis, I tried to prove why a false belief in a beast caused all of the conflict in the novel. With failure to provide enough evidence or reasoning, it was not a nice piece of writing.

I believe that my research paper was definitely a hit. I provided enough evidence and used a provable thesis which was possible to defend with my body paragraphs. I also feel like my latest blog about the compassion and violence differences between men and women are hits. I provided my opinion like we were supposed to do for that post and took into consideration the comments I got on that blog. Lastly, I think that my portfolio is a hit overall. I enjoyed looking through my old pieces of writing and seeing how I improved and I think that I explained my growth as a writer through this project.
